3 Reasons We Love Living in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
WALKABILITY
This is the most walkable neighborhood/city we have ever lived in and we love it! We live in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and yet, less than a block away, from our house is a local donut shop, pilates studio, bakery, barber and a couple of bars (because #wisconsin). A few blocks away we have a library, play cafe, schools, more bars of course, fast food, a brewery/taproom and some delicious local restaurants. Within in a mile is The Village of Wauwatosa, a parkway walking path along the river, a large park and not one, not two, but THREE grocery stores. Everything you could possibly need!
FAMILY FRIENDLINESS
There are a lot of communities that are family friendly, but as a family with two young kids, we feel fully welcome, strollers, toddler tantrums and baby coos included, in Wauwatosa. There are family friendly events happening throughout the city and at local businesses throughout the year. From weekly farmer’s markets and live music in the summer, to art fairs and business trick-or-treating in the Fall and new this year, an authentic European Style Christmas Market! In every day life you’ll find kids walking and biking to school and neighborhood block parties on the weekends.
ACCESSIBILITY
Living in Wauwatosa puts you within a 20 minute drive to most of Greater Milwaukee. Downtown and the Historic Third Ward are ten minutes away, Brookfield is about 10-15 minutes away and even the sandy shores of the Lake Michigan Lakefront is less than 20 minutes. American Family Field, Froedtert, Briggs and Stratton are also in and near Wauwatosa providing a bustling community life during the day and night.
